Defining "Automated Ordering"
Digital imaging has revolutionized the way we do business in the lab. Sending files to us electronically is now commonplace. The most efficient method for sending reprint and enlargement orders to us is by using third party order automation software.
This software resides on your computer and packages your images with metadata that contains the printing instructions for each order. This covers print size and quantities, as well as information such as cropping instructions.
The lab software on our end reads the metadata and sends both the images and the instructions to our Frontier printers in a completely automated manner. This eliminates the time and labor to write up orders, hunt through piles of images and apply the correct instructions. The speed and accuracy of the automated method allows for a significant price savings.
Clients who come into our store and use the onsite kiosk can also enjoy the reduced price of automated ordering. The kiosk is a simple way to edit, crop and order prints from your digital media. Again, these orders are handled automatically by our printing system.
All Automated Orders are printed on Fuji Lustre surface paper.
Orders which do not come to us via an Automated Order method are handled in a tradition manner. These orders are hand written and manually entered into our printing system. These orders are fulfilled at a higher price.
On the subject of Lab Corrected versus No Touch: All kiosk orders are Lab Corrected. With online orders you can choose between Lab Corrected and No Touch service. The No Touch service is available for studios who maintain color calibrated and profiled monitors for doing their own image adjustments. These No Touch orders are printed "as is" and are not previewed or adjusted for any reason. See our price list for the difference on No Touch pricing.
